Approach

We began by looking away from furniture. Skami's grammar comes from a much older source: carved stone crosses, manuscript borders, and interlace bands cut into Georgian churches and stelae between the 5th and 12th centuries. What drew us in wasn't ornament for its own sake, but the logic underneath it. bands that cross, double back, and close without a loose end.
